Art Fair Open Exhibition

Enter your work for display at the HSF Art Fair on Sunday June 23 2019.

Display your work for sale or exhibition in the Art Fair's main marquee at Whitestone Pond on 23 June, with the opportunity to win the Principal Sponsor's Prize, London Art Prize, Phil Ward Third Age Prize for the over 60s, Hampstead School of Art Painting and Drawing Prizes, and the Prize for Best in Show.

We welcome entries from artists of any age and discipline, whether you are an established artist or at the early stage of your career.

The cost is £22.15 per entry.

The Prize-Giving event for competition winners will be held at Hampstead School of Art, 2 Penrose Gardens, London, NW3 7BF on Sunday, July 14 at 6pm.
 


Terms and conditions:

  • Please deliver your work to the school on June 18-21 during office hours (9 am to 5pm). Artists living outside London can bring the work directly to the Festival.

  • ALL WORK MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED ‘OPEN EXHIBITION’ with your NAME, TELEPHONE NUMBER, PRICE and TITLE

  • Artists must be 16 years plus and we welcome work from all art disciplines and whether you are an established artist or at the early stage of your career

  • Submission cost is £20 (plus £2.15 booking fee) for each piece of work

  • All artworks must be originals or a short limited edition of handmade prints.

  • Paintings must be dry.

  • Artwork must be no larger than 600 x 600 mm (framed or unframed)

  • 3-dimensional art should be no more than 30cm in height, length or width.

  • All work must be framed (no clip frames).

  • No glass.

  • Canvases stretched on good quality frames are acceptable without frames.

  • Artworks should have a wire across the back for hanging.

  • Good quality photographic work, framed and under Perspex is accepted.

  • All work must be submitted in 'stiffy bags' - available from the school office if required.

  • No more than 3 entries per artist.

  • Work must be collected from the exhibition by 6pm on the Art Fair Day (unless otherwise agreed).

  • Artists take part in the events at their own risk. HSF and HSoA do not accept responsibility for any loss, breakage, damage or theft of their work.

  • Artists are responsible for their own insurance.

  • HSoA and the HSF reserve the right to decline work for exhibition. All work must be inoffensive and its suitability is solely at the discretion of the school’s selectors.

  • Work will be displayed wherever it is felt best without prior arrangement with the artist.

  • Hampstead Summer Festival receives 50% commission on all work.

  • Hampstead School of Art will send payment via BACS no later than 28 days after the sale of work

FAQs

Where do I deliver the work?

For artists living in London you can deliver the work to Hampstead School of Art. For those outside outside London you can bring the work directly to the Festival.

When can I deliver the work?

You can deliver the work to Hampstead School of Art between 18-21 June during office hours.

Can I submit more than one picture?

You can, but the £20 (+bf) submission fee is per work. So for two works it will be £40 (+bf). There is a maximum of 3 works per artist.

What is the maximum size of work?

The maximum size is 60x60cm (either framed or unframed)

Can the frame have glass?

No. All framed work must be perspex.

Who decides the price?

The price of the work should be decided by yourself. You can find advice on pricing your work here

How much will I receive if my work is sold?

You will receive the full list price minus 50% commission.

How will I get paid?

Hampstead School of Art will send payment via Bacs no later than 28 days after the sale of work.
